Organized by the Alliance for Water Justice in Palestine. Issa Amro is a human rights defender based in Hebron city, West Bank. He is the co-founder of the direct action group Youth Against Settlements and the executive director of Working for Peace and Justice: Friends of Hebron.  Amro is popularly referred to as the ‘Palestinian Gandhi’ and has received widespread international recognition for his work encouraging peaceful resistance against Israeli occupation for which he has been imprisoned scores of times.   Peter Beinart is professor of journalism and political science at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, editor at large of Jewish Currents and a contributing opinion writer at The New York Times.   A nonresident fellow at the Foundation for Middle East Peace, Beinart is the author of the recently-published book Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza: A Reckoning.
