While the Israeli government persists in ignoring growing popular calls for a ceasefire in Gaza. The question arises: Will there be an international legal effort to compel Israel to end its illegal occupation of Palestine? To gain a comprehensive understanding of the ongoing humanitarian situation in Occupied Gaza and engage in a meaningful dialogue on this urgent matter, we are privileged to host two distinguished guests who will share their invaluable expertise on this issue MICHAEL LYNK is Professor Emeritus of Law at Western Ontario University, London, Ontario, Canada. Until his retirement in December 2022, Michael Lynk taught labor law, constitutional law and international and Canadian human rights law at the Faculty of Law, Western University in London, Ontario for more than 20 years. From 2016 to 2022, he served as the United Nations Special Rapporteur for the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967. He has authored and edited several books, including most recently Protecting Human Rights in Occupied Palestine: Working Through the United Nations (Clarity Press, 2022), co-authored with Richard Falk and John Dugard, and International Law and the Middle East Conflict (Routledge, 2011), co-edited with Susan Akram, Michael Dumper and Iain Scobbie. JEHAD ABUSALIM is the Executive Director of the Jerusalem Fund in Washington, D.C. Jehad is completing his PhD in the History and Hebrew and Judaic Studies joint program at New York University. His main area of research is Palestinian and Arab perceptions of the Zionist project and the Jewish question before 1948. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Hebrew language and teaching methods from Al-Azhar University in Gaza, Palestine. An accomplished speaker and writer, Jehad combines his passion for history with his commitment to activism and policy change work. His most recent publication is a co-edited collection on Gaza, published by Haymarket Books: Light in Gaza: Writings Born of Fire Edited by Jehad Abusalim, Jennifer Bing, and Mike Merryman-Lotze https://www.haymarketbooks.org/books/...
